Pi Day Wed 3/14 at 1:59pm (It's also Einstein's birthday!)
Pi Day Also Takes Place Online at Second Life
In an era when math and mathematicians have become sexy again, come to the Exploratorium and gather around the Pi Shrine to perform pi-related rites and eat ritual food -- will it be apple pie or pizza pie or just pie in the sky? -- in honor of this special number. Sing Pi Day songs, bead a pi string, and circumnavigate the pi shrine. It's all part of Pi Day celebrations, which culminate, appropriately enough, on March 14 at 1:59pm. That's the third month, the fourteenth day, at 1:59pm, corresponding to the first 6-digits of Pi. Pi Day also takes place at the 'Splo, the online version of the Exploratorium on Second Life.

3/15 5pm Forest for the Trees-Judi Bari v. The FBI-Free Movie Event
GGU National Lawyers Guild presents a film screening of:
"THE FOREST FOR THE TREES"-Judi Bari vs. The FBI
A film by Bernadine Mellis
With Special Guest Speaker Bari's Attorney and this year's NLGSF Testimonial
Dinner Honoree Dennis Cunningham
Thursday, March 15th 5-6:30 p.m. Room 2203
Golden Gate University School of Law
536 Mission St., between 1st and 2nd Streets
FREE Dinner will be Provided.
This film is an intimate look at an unlikely team of young activists and old
lefties who come together to battle the U.S. government following
environmental activist Judi Bari's arrest on terrorism charges in 1990.
Judi Bari was an Earth First! leader who was one of the first to place as
much importance on the legacy and future of the trees as she did on timber
workers' lives and families. But that strategic relationship was too much of
a threat. Her car was bombed in 1990, and three hours later, she was
arrested as a terrorist--charges that were later dropped. Convinced it was a
ploy by the FBI to discredit her and Earth First!, Judi decided to sue.
Cunningham took on Judi's case and after 12 years, Judi Bari v. the FBI
finally gets a court date. Knowing this is one of her father's most
important cases, Mellis is there at strategy meetings, at breakfast, driving
to and from the court, documenting her morally driven, very tired dad. Not
your typical Take your daughter to work day, THE FOREST FOR THE TREES
offers access to a piece of U.S. history that everyday grows increasingly
resonant.
Q&A and Reception with Dennis Cunningham to follow.
Co-Sponsored by the GGU Environmental Law Society.
"I hope the FBI finds the bomber, and FIRES him!" -Judi Bari

This month, Vau de Vire Society, Gooferman, and Circus Metropolus have pulled out ALL the stops - and yeah, while this may seem like a three day festival, it's NOT! It's all in one phenomenal night, and we've put it together just for you - because we loooooove you!
We simply, through agonizing effort and unwavering love for you and all we want to do for you, create the best show you will have ever seen in your entire life. (Until, that is, our show next month.)
Our Bohemian Carnival for March is going to make you jump for joy, drool with delight, and until then, squirm with anticipation!

Come succumb to the amazing amazinness of El Circo, the phenomenal beats of Random Rab, the passion and raw, in your face music and voice of the one and only Mark Growden! Come gape at the exquisite El Pachango, the leg-wetting sexiness of the aerial workings of our beloved Xeno, and the up-and-downright disco-noir synth-pop deliciousness of Luxxury! Roar like hounds when Tim Barsky steps up to the stage with things indescribable, and just in case all the tantalizing beauties that will be walking around and appearing on the stage aren't enough to stimulate your salivary glands (and those other things that we really like to stimulate), we have LIVE ART! That's right, boyses and girlses, throughout the evening, in front of your very peepers, Andrew Jones is going to be creating something that will make you tremble with delight!
This is a show to beat all shows, and for merely a pittance, you get bajillions returned back to you in heart-popping awe from the second you step inside!
COME ONE, COME ALL! Trust us - YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!!!
We're all about making your evening the best it could ever possibly be - and you have a sincere guarantee from me, kSea flux, personally - if you don't have fun, if you don't see some of the sexiest people you ever have doing things that delight you, if you don't utter at least one "ooooh!" or one "aaaaah!" or one "WHOA!) - then I will personally return your fare. Or at least, buy you a drink.
There is nothing that compares to Bohemian Carnival - come join us - and dress like you mean it!
(Of course, we always have the insta-klown booth for ALL of your makeup needs!)

How is your asking going? Are you receiving as many "Yes's" as you would like?
Do you have a compelling vision you keep to yourself yet yearn to express?
Are you daunted by some of the challenges that you face as you pursue your goals?

April 7 - Burning Man Town Hall (actual name of event may be changing) http://burningman.com

BunnyJam07 is coming up, Saturday April 7th.
It's going to be at the Porn Palace space in SF (mission, near the metreon parking garage).
Great space, that looks really nice inside. Castle Room, Barnyard, Retro Bar Room, Jail Room, and more.
The theme is going to be: "The Hare-Itics Ball : Ye Ole Bunny Jamme" Hop with it.
We really need some fresh bunny art so it's not just the same stuff recycled from last year.
We have alot of small (as in up to 5x5 feet) spaces spread around the venue that we'd love to fill with bunny art. This is where you come in to play. Do you have an idea for an art installation, interactive art piece, performance art piece, or anything really, that you would like to bring to bunny jam?
If so, send me a message or email me at sfaaron26@yahoo.com
We also need general volunteers for set up and running the party, but that doesn't take as much advanced planning.

BYOBW 2007 Sunday, April 8, 4:00 PM
the Bring Your Own Big Wheel race is back and curvier than ever!*
http://www.jonbrumit.com/byobw.html
7TH ANNUAL 'BYOBW' BIG WHEEL RACE
FREE OUTDOOR EVENT EASTER SUNDAY, 2007 4 PM TOP OF LOMBARD ST, SF
BIG PEOPLE ON KID'S TOYS NO RUBBER WHEELS HAND-MADE PRIZES FUN!
2007 will be the SEVENTH ANNUAL BYOBW, neighbors and police permitting, rain or shine ... there are always prizes, one year featured tighty-whities with custom denim iron-on Lombard Street Skid Marks and other years have featured paintings, string art, shellac plaques, and embroidered knit caps and t shirts, all made by me. Lombard Street is of course not the crookedest street, especially compared to Vermont Street in Potrero Hill, but with a built-in international audience and scenic landscaping, who could resist? Prizes are given for all sorts of reasons, occasionally for being first, always for being last, and as the race is designed for plastic children's toys which are prone to failure when carrying over 80 pounds, winning isn't the goal here - survival is. This is a free event!!!!

Thu April 12, 7:30–9 p.m. Nancy DeStefanis, Executive Director of San Francisco Nature Education, will lecture and screen the short films Above the Nests, directed by Nancy DeStefanis, and Heron Island, directed by Judy Irving (Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill). Nancy will also present a brief slide show of highlights of the 2006 great blue heron colony.
Sponsored by the San Francisco Naturalist Society, the films will be shown on Thursday, April 12, 7:30–9 p.m. at the Randall Museum Theater, Randall Museum, 199 Museum Way, San Francisco. For more information see the Calendar of Events on our website http://www.sfnature.org
